In true 1940’s radio theatre style Lux Radio Theatre presents ‘Mystery of a Hansom Cab’.  Let your imagination run wild as a group of top Melbourne theatre and screen actors recreate the pre-television days with the rediscovered Australian whodunnit MYSTERY OF A HANSOM CAB, the successful book that preceded Sherlock Holmes.

Set in the 1880s in a mansion in the fashionable suburb of St Kilda, at the exclusive Melbourne Club and the criminal haunt of Little Bourke Street, this intriguing story centres around a murder in a hansom cab.

James Wright, Paul David Goddard, Simon Russell (straight out of a leading role in 'We Will Rock You') and Lucy Gransbury (who featured in the recent 'Godspell' at the Sydney Opera House), will delight audiences in ‘Mystery of a Hansom Cab’, not only with its unexpected plot twists, but with its colourful references to late nineteenth century Victoria.

A feature of the performance is the sound effects created live and the vintage soap commercials.
