DYLANesque - the Bob Dylan story

DYLANesque - the Bob Dylan story

February 25, 2017 @ 7:30 PM
Forge Theatre and Arts Hub

Jeff Jenkins, lead singer, opens the show with a tale from 1961, when a young 19 year old hitch-hiked his way from Duluth Minnesota to New York City with a guitar and $10 in his pocket - and went on to become one of the world's most successful songwriters of all time.

Starting from his humble beginnings busking in cafes, 'DYLANesque - The Bob Dylan Story' is a 2-hour narrated rock show that leads you through the songs and events that shaped Dylan; his relationships and breakups, religious conversions, the dramatic scenes when Bob 'went electric' at Newport Folk Festival in 1965, how he went from playing solo to playing with The Band, through all his incarnations including the much loved Traveling Wilbury's.

This Bob Dylan tribute is a theatre piece that takes you on a moving and powerful musical journey.

A Fine Romance: The Magic of Fred Astaire is an all singing, all dancing tribute to the man who went on to become the most famous dancer of all times.

Bringing back the old world glamour and charm with plenty of toe-tapping tunes and re-creations of the legendary dance routines of the era, A Fine Romance takes the audience from Fred’s humble beginnings on Broadway, all the way to his Hollywood days and on screen romances with his many leading ladies, including Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn and Rita Hayworth.

Audiences will love the costumes, the songs, the glitz, the extraordinary dancing and of course, the music. This show has something for everyone.

Free morning tea from 10.30am.

Lucille Ball was the Queen of American comedy for decades. As television's biggest star in 'I Love Lucy' - the most popular TV sitcom in American History - Lucy broke the mould for the way women were allowed to behave on TV.

The show that knows we all love Lucy! Starring Elise McCann, this show is a tribute to the wacky, fearless, and totally endearing Lucille Ball, and her real-life and on-screen husband Desi Arnaz. A treat for those who really love Lucy!
