We’re Going On A Bear Hunt

We’re Going On A Bear Hunt

Esso BHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre

WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT is the wonderful story of a family out for walk and on the lookout for a growling bear - they have to march through long swishy grass, wade through thick gloopy mud and even battle a snow storm before entering a big dark cave where maybe they will finally spot the glinty wet eyes of a slobbering, gigantic bear winking at them through the blackness.

This 55 minute mini-musical captures the fun and frolics of a father who is clearly still a child at heart, his three children including a tiny intrepid bear hunter in the making – baby is strapped to dad’s back plus the family dog and of course....a BIG BROWN CUDDLY BEAR!

Suitable for ages 2 - 8

Darren Coggan celebrates 50 years of Cat Stevens as he presents Peace Train 'Remember the Days' a tribute to Cat Stevens.

1967, it's the era of angry young men and British writers, actors and singers are changing the way that society looks at youth. Hair gets longer, dresses get shorter, four young lads from Liverpool are leading the vanguard of a musical and cultural revolution, and in the summer of love, you can't turn on a radio without hearing the hip sounds of a fresh new artist by the name of Cat Stevens.

“I was always like, like a magnet with my Dad, like everywhere he went I was right next to him…  He never got rid of me…”

Throughout Australia’s history, an unknown number of Indigenous children have been forcibly removed from their families.  Parents driven mad, grandparents heartbroken, siblings torn apart, language lost, and culture stripped away.

Using testimonials from the Stolen Generations, Noongar man Ian Michael invites you to listen in
on the silenced stories of this country.

Petula..... Downtown to Broadway - A Tribute

A career spanning more than six decades has seen Petula Clarke evolve from a child star bringing songs and messages (sometimes encoded!) to soldiers during World War Two, to sixties sensation… star of stage and screen… to concert performer who still delivers with as much passion and skill as ever.  A superstar around the world, Petula is as much at home performing in French as in English and is said to be as loved in France, where she lived for many years, as the great Piaf!

Singer Hilary Henshaw and pianist Will Conyers grew up tapping their toes to Petula’s hits of the sixties… and continue to follow her career with fascination and admiration as she keeps abreast of the “sign of the times”, continuing to perform and record ever new and different genres, including her own compositions.

This labour of love and respect features many of her timeless hits including Sign of the Times, The Other Man’s Grass, This Is My Song and…Downtown. Petula’s contribution to movies such as Finian’s Rainbow and Goodbye Mr. Chips is also celebrated, as well as her musical theatre achievements.

Gippsland Art Gallery - Sale

The Gippsland encountered by artists in the late nineteenth century was a wild and inhospitable frontierland.

In the age of Impressionism and the rise of a national school of art, Gippsland remained a remote and inaccessible region for most artists.  Those who did make the journey were confronted by obstacles at every turn, at once impeding their pathway and providing awe-inspiring subjects for their art.

Bohemians in the Bush explores the stories and art of late nineteenth and early twentieth century Gippsland, revealing the work of many artists who are comparatively little known today.
