Over the last few years Groundswell Bass Coast has been presenting information about the implications of climate change to the Bass Coast community. As facts and figures of scientific data can become overwhelming at times, a different approach is being taken for our next event. Groundswell is collaborating with ArtSpace Wonthaggi to hold an Art Show entitled "ClimArt" on the theme of climate-change.

Are you aware that the first evidence of dinosaurs in Australia was discovered near Inverloch in 1903?  The Palaeontological significance of the whole of the Bass Coastline is huge!

This Exhibition encompasses the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous Periods in the history of the Earth.  Twelve Australian Jewellers have been invited to create a special piece of Jewellery.  

Also featuring the Art and handmade tiles of local artist Jen Manhal.

Bass Coast Artist In Residence 2017, Jakeb Anhvù

Jakeb Anhvù is an Australian documentary filmmaker and is a graduate of Melbourne University (VCA) with a Masters in Documentary.  

Blush of Fruit (2012), his debut feature, premiered at IDFA in the First Appearance Competition.  It was the winner for Best Documentary at the 2013 Adelaide Film Festival & for New Australian Talent at the 2014 AIDC Asia Pacific New Documentary Program.  He is the 2016
recipient of the Asia Pacific Screen Lab.

Jakeb has been selected to be Artist in Residence at Rhyll, Phillip Island. He will be in residence from Wednesday 3 May - Wednesday 10 May.
